Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Butter a bread loaf pan.
Mix together, using a fork, the flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder. In a small bowl, melt the butter and stir in the eggs, cream, and apple sauce until well blended. Hand mash the ripe bananas into this small bowl and stir gently. Fold in the banana mix into the dry ingredients until just combined.
Scrape the batter into the pan and spread evenly. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 50-60 minutes. Let cool in the pan on a rack for 10 minutes then unmold and allow to cool completely on the rack.
